The laboratory complex bore the name Solis Labs. We found evidence of radiation there, and complex research done into opening portals into other dimensions. Successful research, as far as we could tell. Successful, but with dangerous consequence.
[ He remembers the diary entries. Initially celebrated, it seems the discovery had gone sideways fast. ]
The human drive for discovery has always been admirable. It's of little surprise to see the drawbacks of such reckless pushes towards things humanity barely understands.
[ They learned nothing from Icarus. ]
It seems something dangerous on the other side of the portals noticed.
[While she had always figured most alien stories were just demons, or something else, messing with people, she never ruled out aliens. Or whatever the hell the World Eaters would be considered.

We were at the museum and when we went outside, there was a statue of someone. Dr. Solis. [Jo looks past Castiel with a sigh.]
Then the sun went nova or something. It was too bright. Too hot. We couldn't get back inside.
